‘I am not going to accept the Chairmanship offer given by the Government of Karnataka to head the 2009-2010 Karnataka State Film Awards’ – No chance of accepting it because my husband Dr Vishnuvardhana films are in the fray for awards – Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana made it very clear in her chat with a few journalists on Sunday evening.

Firstly I have not received any communication, secondly no one from the government side asked me on this matter. Without looking at the pros and cons it is not right make such appointments. I only came to know from reading newspapers. When my colleagues telephoned I made it very clear not to accept the offer.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana was right in making such a statement. She was also of the opinion that ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ film is a good contender for seven to eight categories of awards. When such a situation is obvious it is not right to accept the position she stated.

On the Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial in less than two years taking a good shape Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana was very happy but some trivial issues bothering the smooth progress she was upset.

On Dwarakish opting for Raja or Veera as prefix to ‘Vishnuvardhana’ title, she has no objection. This is what I have told earlier. After some point of time I have stopped reacting because it may lead to some other complications.
Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana is now gearing up for the ‘Snehaloka Cricket Cup’.
